Con actividad fabril desde 1706, el Astillero como tal fue fundado por Herman Roosen (Ciudad Libre de Hamburgo-Alemania) en 1849
En 1861 se traslado a Reiherstieg
Primer Rompehielos en 1871
En 1927 fue comprada por Deustche Werf A.G.Finkenwerder (Hamburgo-Alemania) por problemas finacieros
quedando Reiherstieg como astillero de reparaciones
